Brunei DPMM FC, the defending AIA SPL or Singapore Premier League champions will faceoff Komoco Motors Singapore Cup Winners Tampines Rovers. It will be held on February 22, 2020 within the AIA Community Shield to start the 2020 domestic season. The Community Shield is the solo fixture that take action as the conventional curtain-raiser for the upcoming SPL season. It will occur for a 13th time at the Jalan Besar Stadium, and the start will be scheduled for 6 pm. The SPL’s 25th season will commence on February 29, 2020 with two games will be played at the same time for the week 1 – Home United FC will be against DPMM FC at the Bishan Stadium, while Albirex Niigata FC (s) will welcome Geylang International FC at the Juromg East Stadium. For this season we will witness two venue changes: The Young Lions will play their ground soil games at the Jurong West Stadium and on the other hand, Hougang United FC will host their rivals to their current journey home of Hougang Stadium over the season. The move of locations is necessitated by about to happen of re-turfing at the Jalan Besar Stadium, which represented as the shared home soil for both squads in 2019.
